The National Registration and Database Authority (NADRA) identified thousands of Pakistanis who registered as Afghan refugees for only US $ 400.
The president of NADRA, Usman Yusuf Mubeen, has revealed that at least 10,000 Pakistani Afghans have been granted the $ 400 grant announced by the UN High Commission for refugees who want to return voluntarily to their country of origin.

He made this disclosure by informing the Permanent Home Affairs Committee of blocked national identity cards. Senator Rehman Malik chaired the committee.
Usman Yusuf informed the Senate that this Pakistani was identified by the system when they got CNIC, as their cards were blocked and added that in five different categories of suspected cases, the CNICs were blocked.
President NADRA informed the committee that so far about 1 million refugees have returned to Afghanistan under the voluntary repatriation scheme
He added that each refugee had received $ 400 as an aid package announced by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, also for their newborns.
