The Federal Revenue Service (FBR) frozen the Geo Group’s accounts because it did not pay its turnover tax, although several notices were issued to the group, ARY News said on Tuesday.
According to the news channel reports, the FBR tax unit informed Geo Group of the development and said that the accounts would be restored after the recovery of the sales tax.

The corporation did not pay the sales tax in the amount of 335 million rupees, which led the national tax authority to take strict measures in accordance with the Sales Tax Act of 1990, section 48 1 (b).
Subject to sub-section (1A), where any amount of tax is due from any person, the officer of Inland Revenue may:
require by a notice require in writing any person who holds or may subsequently hold any money for or on account of the person from whom tax may be recoverable to pay to such officer the amount specified in the notice;
