The electronic industry has continued to grow at an accelerated pace since recent years.
This year, it has grown by 7.8 percent during the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2018-19. This was revealed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in its first quarterly report.

The quarterly report on the economy of the state of Pakistan for fiscal year 19 mentions that the factors behind this growth include an increase in the production of electric motors and different types of refrigeration equipment.
The report also pointed out that the persistent growth of the electronics industry has attracted the interest of foreign investors as well. The third largest television producer in the world, TCL, announced the extension of its operations in the Pakistani electronic market.
Apart from that, the report presented a weaker outlook for public finances while showing that external imbalances were going down.
The report predicted a 4.0-4.5 percent growth in real gross domestic product, which is lower than its October forecast of 4.7-5.2 percent growth.
