The Pakistani Cricket Council (PCB) announced the pending ODI series match calendar against Australia. The series, played in the three UAE places, will start on March 22.

PCB withdrew the announcement as it was in the middle of talks with Cricket Australia and convinced them to play at least two of the five games in Pakistan. However, the Australian council rejected the request with a promise for the future.

The PCB was optimistic that it could convince Cricket Australia to send its team for a few games after playing high profile bilateral international series and HBL Pakistan Super League matches over the past 18 months, but we were disappointed by the enthusiasts and passionate cricket fans in Pakistan, who have to wait a little longer before they can see the Australian cricket team for the first time since 1998, “said PCB Cricket, international director Zakir Khan.

However, the CA has confirmed that it will send its security expert to oversee the implementation of security plans for HLP PSL 2019 matches and bilateral series against other international parties in Pakistan and will also recommend with the PCB security consultant the CA confirms that they will maintain regular contact with the ICC, “he added.

The Green Shirts are currently fifth in the ICC ODI position, while the Kangaroos are in sixth place, only two points behind.

The series will test the Pakistani team’s preparations for the next World Cup, as Australia is an improved team compared to their last visit to the UAE, where they lost the T20I 3-0 series.
