The PTI-led provincial government has amended the initial design of Peshawar’s under-construction Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project to make it usable for differently-abled people.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), who has promised to complete the project by March 23rd, has been very vigilant and makes frequent visits of construction sides.

A spokesperson for the project informed media that the construction of 15 out of 31 BRT stations had been completed.
He was hopeful that the project will be ready by the deadline.
According to him, BRT will be the country’s first mass-transit project to incorporate all of these features for the differently-abled persons.
He visited several sites on Sunday and reviewed the area where he informed that the government had amended the original plan to add facilities for differently-abled as per internaFollowing the international criteria, special arrangements have been made to facilitate special people and to provide easy and smooth access.
These facilities include ramps across all 31 BRT stops for disabled people and installation of a trail with markings in brail instead of tiles across all the corridors for the visually impaired.
The project also includes exclusive tracks for people limited to wheelchairs.
Moreover, bus doors will be wide enough for wheelchairs and other personal mobility vehicles.tional standards.
