Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated on Saturday the “Plant for Pakistan, a campaign to plant 10 billion trees across the country over the next five years.
Prime Minister Khan launched the campaign by planting a young tree in the Balloki Forest Reserve to mark the plant campaign for Pakistan.
On the occasion, the prime minister said there were very few forests in the country, adding that the jungle of Mianwali had recently been cut.

The prime minister was informed that the condition in Changa Manga was also deteriorating.
An hour before the official launch of “Plant for Pakistan,” PM went to Twitter to announce the end of invasions in forests and promised to reclaim land from land grabbers to retain forests.

Deputy commissioner Mansoor Ahmed Raja Nankana said the state’s news agency APP would take a total of 25,000 students planting 10,000 trees in 2,500 acres of state land reclaimed from stickers.
Malik Amin Aslam, advisor for PM on Climate Change, also confirmed the news, saying that 2500 acres of land has recovered from the land mafia in the city.
He added that this would be the first incident in history to claim a piece of land to plant it in a jungle by planting trees.
