Today, SCO added another achievement in its glorious 43-year history when the China Optical Cable Switch (OFC) is operational, with China’s commercial traffic to international destinations.
The First Fiber Link Established By The Public Sector Company By Pak-China
Commercial traffic in the recent assignment is being transported by the OCS PTCL consortium from Urumqi (China) to Frankfurt (Germany).
Pak-China OFC Link is the first cross-border connection between the two neighboring countries. It is also the first time that a public sector organization in Pakistan establishes well-organized and high-capacity cross-border land connectivity.
The key communication link, in addition to its strategic and socio-economic dimensions, has the potential to transport large volumes of traffic from China to international destinations in the Middle East, Africa and Europe for which traffic projections are very healthy.
Despite the challenges, all the members of the SCO have worked tirelessly to complete on time the only ICT project planned to date by the CPEC.
The successful completion and implementation of the flagship project of Early Harvest ICT CPEC is a testament to the organizational power and professional sense of the SCO, which all members of the organization deserve an appreciation.
